ISO 45001:2018 Risk Assessment
INTRODUCTION
In March 2018, the International Organization for Standardization published ISO 45001:2018 – Occupational Health and Safety Management System Requirements. This international standard will give organizations a framework to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better, safer working conditions, all over the world.
ISO 45001 applies to all types of organizations. It doesn't matter what they do or what size they are. It can help any organization prevent work-related injury and ill-health and to provide a safe and healthy workplace.
Course Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will understand the requirements of the latest version of ISO 45001:2018 and be able to communicate any changes in OHS specific requirements arising as a result of migrating from OHSAS 18001:2017 to ISO 45001:2018. Also, participants will be able to establish comprehensive risk assessments for their organisation. No prior knowledge is required for this course; however, learners may benefit from having an understanding of OHSAS 18001:2017 and Annex SL.
Course Outline
- The course comprises a series of illustrated lectures, which give an understanding of the OHS system audit, supported by case studies and workshops to develop essential internal auditor skills.
- ISO 45001:2018 overview
- Overview of the key requirements standard including 'Process approach.
- A detailed explanation of risk assessment establishment based on the process approach and based on the OHS requirements.
- Review some key requirements from an implementation perspective including Context; worker needs interests and participation and interested parties; scope and objectives of OHSMS; OHS Policy and Planning; Risks and opportunities to the OHSMS; Provision of resources and support; Hazard identification and elimination and controls; operation; performance evaluation and improvement.
